The dr. Aletta Jacobs College is a public high school with a broad educational offering and, because it works in sub-schools, is at the same time surprisingly small-scale. At the Aletta, they believe it is important that you not only gain knowledge, but also learn other skills.
The project
Upon entering the main hall at the main location, three large information screens hang conspicuously side by side. The cafeteria of the practice building is also equipped with an information screen. The information on each screen can be managed separately by the Communications and ICT department. This provides more flexibility and opportunities to display different types of information.
The information screens display dynamic and attractive content that attracts attention. For example, information about parent evenings, inspiring videos, opening hours, class changes or announcements. It is also nice to see student activities or achieved results displayed, which increases student and staff engagement. All this contributes to efficient communication of important information within the school community.
To publish information on the screens, Dr. Aletta Jacobs College uses slide layouts formatted in its own house style. This allows information to be placed on the screens quickly and easily without having to worry about the layout. The timetable module in Spark Narrowcasting is used to display timetable changes. The school provides current timetable information, Spark provides the clear display on the screens. To complete the narrowcasting playlist, it is supplemented with a local news feed and the display of the weather forecast.
