Streamlined internal communication

Alkmaar is a wonderful city in a strong region. The board wants the best for society. This task is central to everything that Gemeente Alkmaar does. They do not do this alone, but together with inhabitants, entrepreneurs and institutions. Society is constantly changing. The challenge is to keep up with it by working together simply, quickly and smartly. That starts from within.

Project
In the City Office of the Municipality of Alkmaar, the existing screens were replaced by Spark Narrowcasting screens. These screens are designed to streamline internal communication while also providing a mobile screen for external communication. Each screen will have its own channel with a specific playlist, starting with an organization-wide list.

Internal communications are primarily focused on Team Alkmaar. Content includes current announcements, job openings, and notices of personnel changes. Gemeente Alkmaar has specific requirements for the presentation of this information, including the use of QR codes and the municipal logo, with the ability to choose primary and secondary colors for internal communications.

The playlist is enriched with a link to the bGrid application for an overview of available workplaces per floor. Also integrated is a news feed from the Noord-Hollands Dagblad, which can be customized or expanded as desired.

Microsoft Sharepoint connection
Gemeente Alkmaar has added an interface with Sharepoint to their digital signage. Because of this, Gemeente Alkmaar can now easily use videos and photos from Sharepoint directly in Spark Narrowcasting. Furthermore, this integration ensures that news items from Sharepoint are integrated into Spark Narrowcasting, preventing double entry and increasing efficiency.

Gemeente Alkmaar can choose which folders to use in Spark Narrowcasting. We set everything up properly for the organization or a specific location. So everyone at Gemeente Alkmaar can choose which information from Sharepoint is shown on the screens. This makes it easy to show the right information, exactly as the user wants.

"Child can do the laundry! The software is so user-friendly that really all colleagues on team communications can easily find their way around creating or modifying the sheets. Even without extensive instruction. What's also a big improvement for us is being able to get new sheets ready ahead of time and bring an end time/date. We also find turning the screens on and off at regular intervals to be a real plus."
