Noorderpoort ready for the future

Noorderpoort
With 16 schools in the city and surrounding area, Noorderpoort is one of the largest MBO educators in the Northern Netherlands. But they choose "small. They have manageable schools, with their own character, where everyone knows each other. At Noorderpoort, you learn a trade. You learn new skills. You learn how your (future) profession develops every day. If you want to be a car mechanic today, tomorrow you will know all about electric driving. And the store where you want to work? Soon they will do everything online. The world is changing. And so is Noorderpoort. Noorderpoort helps you to get the best out of yourself. The project
In order to use digital signage as effectively as possible in the coming years, Noorderpoort had a hardware replacement round carried out. Spark provided extensive advice on this. We looked at the right screen format per position, taking into account viewing distance and light output. Noorderpoort switched from a screen with an external player to Spark's LG webOS solution: an LG display with an internal webOS player equipped with Spark software. In preparation, the screens were provided with software by Spark and supplied and installed by Bano, Noorderpoort's AV supplier. Some separate AV solutions still use players, such as when controlling a Video Wall or using a beamer.

Over the years, narrowcasting has become a fully-fledged communication tool for informing students about (educational) news, class schedules, activities, public transport information or energy consumption by means of an energy dashboard. The information screens hang in the canteen, at the reception desk and in the corridors of the schools.

Slide layouts
Slide layouts are available in the Spark application, completely designed in the house style of Noorderpoort. Users can easily and quickly place information on the screens in accordance with the house style. Information is provided centrally by the Marketing & Communication department and decentrally by users of the schools themselves. In this way, students are continuously presented with up-to-date information.

All screens are structured with recognizable and clear naming in the application during the replacement round. This ensures an uncluttered application environment.
