Tjongerschans is a regional hospital and operates on the philosophy that the right care in the right place is best shaped by establishing connections with patients and the entire healthcare chain and by focusing on hospitality and innovation. As a regional hospital, Tjongerschans therefore works closely with GPs, healthcare organizations, health insurers and the other hospitals in Friesland.

The project
Tjongerschans Hospital is deploying Spark Narrowcasting screens equipped with an integrated player. The LG webOS displays have the right light output for good visibility. Throughout the hospital and at various outdoor locations, the outpatient clinics are equipped with screens. Different screen sizes are deployed at the locations. The strategic position and correct format of the screen is determined per location.

Slide layouts
Information on narrowcasting screens at Tjongerschans Hospital should be informative, targeted and recognizable, so that it contributes to targeted communication to patients. For this purpose, slide layouts have been designed in the hospital's corporate identity. In the design of the layouts, according to the wishes of Tjongerschans, account was taken of the incorporation of the characteristic hexagonal element. This element is very recognizable in the house style layouts of Tjongerschans. The slides are animated to keep the viewer's attention longer.

At the outpatient clinics at Tjongerschans, patients are proactively informed about waiting times and any walk-out times of an attending physician. On the narrowcasting screens a patient can see exactly how long the waiting time is. Patients thus know where they stand without having to ask at the counter how long the waiting time is. Tjongerschans uses Spark Narrowcasting's outflow time module for this purpose. The outpatient time module makes it easy for an outpatient clinic clerk to indicate whether there are any outpatient times for an attending physician.
